Steven J. Brown, CPA
Bio:

BrownSteven Steve is the Partner-in-Charge of RubinBrown’s Tax Consulting Services Group. He has appeared on live television broadcasts as a tax expert and participated in numerous radio programs pertaining to various tax subjects. He is a lecturer at various tax seminars and conferences. Steve was the chair of Section 1374 Working Group, a member of Section 2702 Working Group and co-authored comments on proposed regulations on built-in gains and qualified personal residence trusts. He has also contributed to a report titled “Checklists for Determining Whether a Trust is a Valid S Shareholder” which was distributed to members of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Tax Division. Steve co-authored an article on “S Corporations’ Charitable Contributions of Appreciated Property” which appeared in the March 2008 edition of the Tax Adviser. He is a frequent contributor of articles to various tax publications.

  • Steve was named one of CPA Magazine's Top 40 Tax Advisors to Know During a Recession.  He was the only St. Louis advisor named to the national list (2009). 
  • Steve is an Emory University Business School Mentor.
