Continuing Professional Education – RubinBrown UniversityRubinBrown is dedicated to provide each team member with the tools they will need to be a successful professional. Developing your “career equity” is highly promoted at RubinBrown In order to succeed in their selected career paths, each team member must be aware of what knowledge and skills are required. From their first day with RubinBrown, team members can view core competencies by career levels (from beginner all the way to Management Group) that are unique to their department. In addition to the departmental core competencies, areas of specialization have unique core competencies that can be added to the team member’s departmental core competencies. This structure provides a set of core competencies that are unique to each team member and their career path. Each departmental career level contains three categories of core competencies focusing on technical skills, technological skills, and leadership skills. These core competencies are reviewed and updated on-line by each team member with guidance from his or her “Career Development Coordinator”. This process helps each team member identify his or her educational focus for each upcoming year. We recognize that team members learn best through different methods. RubinBrown includes several methods of learning including on-line training, classroom courses taught by RubinBrown and external facilitators, self-study, external seminars and conferences, etc. On-line course registrations, attendance and continuing education expense tracking, and core competencies are accessible via RubinBrown University. There are currently more than 150 internal courses offered in RubinBrown University. Many resources are available within RubinBrown University. It’s a tool that team members can access at any time for an up-to-date view of their continuing education attendance or to update their core competencies and sign up for classes. As the services of the Firm continue to expand, so do the backgrounds and expertise of individuals hired by the Firm. As more non-accounting majors are added to the Firm to expand our overall business expertise, the training supported by the Firm is also growing to address both accounting and non-accounting majors. RubinBrown’s goal is for team members to become better overall "business advisors", not just better "accountants" or "management consultants". |
