CastellanoJames.jpgChairman of RubinBrown named as Business Professional of the Year

ST. LOUIS, July 2007 – James G. Castellano, CPA, chairman of RubinBrown, has been selected by the Beta Alpha Psi Advisory Forum as Business Professional of the Year.

Beta Alpha Psi, founded in 1919, is an honorary organization for financial information students and professionals. Its goal is to recognize and honor professionals in the business, accounting and finance fields.

Each year, nominations for the Business Professional of the Year award are submitted by chapters as a way of recognizing outstanding alumni or honorary members. Castellano was nominated by Truman State and its advisory forum, a group of companies and firms that support Beta Alpha Psi through financial contributions and volunteer time.

The award will be presented at Beta Alpha Psi’s annual meeting, Thursday evening, Aug. 1 in Chicago.

In addition to Castellano’s leadership position at RubinBrown, he also serves as chairman of Baker Tilly International, the world’s eighth largest network of independent accounting firms.

He also is a former chairman and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Castellano has been recognized by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants for his distinguished service, by Case Weatherhead School of Management, by the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants with an Outstanding Visionary Award, by the Clayton Chamber of Commerce as Business Person of the Year and by Rockhurst University as an Outstanding Alumnus.

He holds a bachelor’s degree from Rockhurst University and serves as a member of that institution’s board of trustees. He is a member of the board of directors at Cardinal Glennon Hospital Foundation, a co-chairman of Annual Bob Costas Gala for the Bob Costas Cancer Center, treasurer of the St. Louis Regional Business Council and a member of the Archdiocese of St. Louis Finance Council.
