North Carolina has passed a new law that will allow increased enforcement on out-of-state commercial vehicle operators who illegally register vehicles by listing their place of residence or business in the state to take advantage of cheaper insurance rates.


Focus on Transportation and Dealerships: Proposed IRS Guidance Changes Transportation Equipment Taxes

The IRS issued proposed guidance focusing on retailer’s excise tax imposed on highway-type equipment, which if passed, would change the way certain transportation equipment is taxed. The proposed regulations help align the current regulations to properly reflect the current law. Additionally the regulations provide support for any buyer of an incomplete chassis cab that also confirms to the seller that he will not change the incomplete chassis cab into a taxable tractor.


Focus on Transportation & Dealerships: President Obama Signs 5-Year Highway Bill

On December 4, 2015, President Obama signed a five-year, $305 billion highway reauthorization bill that will reform a safety performance scoring program for motor carriers and pave the way for employers to rely on alternative testing to screen prospective drivers.

Automobile Dealers Association of Greater Kansas City

The association was created to advance, educate and encourage public interest in new cars and trucks; improve public perception of new car dealers; promote and improve business conditions of the automobile industry in the Kansas City Metropolitan area; and to foster the highest standards of integrity in business practices among new car dealers.


Colorado Automobile Dealers Association (CADA)

The Colorado Automobile Dealers Association represents approximately 260 new car and truck dealers throughout the state and advocates for issues important to the industry.


Illinois Automobile Dealers Association (IADA)

The Illinois Automobile Dealers Association is an organization of franchised new car and truck dealers whose purpose is to promote an ethical, favorable business climate and to serve the common needs of its members through services, education and representation. IADA also offers information about finding dealers, a directory and news.


Missouri Automobile Dealers Association (MADA)

The Missouri Automobile Dealers Association is dedicated to acquiring, preserving and disseminating information to all branches of the automotive industry. It holds a strong commitment to engaging in non-profit scientific and educational activities as a commercial and trade association and business league in connection with the sale, marketing, promotion and delivery, repair and use of motor vehicles. MADA also provides information links to other automotive sites, along with information about workers' compensation.


Missouri Trucking Association

The Missouri Trucking Association was incorporated in 1937. Today it represents the interests of over 725 member companies that operate trucks, including both for-hire and private carriers, and allied members that provide products and services to the motor carriers industry.


National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA)

The National Automobile Dealers Association represents America's franchised new car and truck dealers. Today there are more than 19,600 franchised new car and truck dealer members holding nearly 40,000 separate new car and light, medium, and heavy-duty truck franchises, domestic and import. NADA provides counsel on legal and regulatory matters, develops research data on the automobile industry and operates training and service programs to improve dealership business operations, sales and service practices.

St. Louis Association of Auto Dealers (SLADA)

The St. Louis Auto Dealers Association (SLADA) has been keeping St. Louis on the move since its establishment in 1907. At the time, SLADA was the nation's largest trade organization of its kind. We are a not-for-profit group of approximately 100 St. Louis new car and truck dealers. Our dealer members are committed to providing the best in automobile sales and service, and also supporting the growth and betterment of the St. Louis community.
