Chris Tkach, a manager in the Assurance Services Group at RubinBrown, was recently honored at the St. Louis Business Journal’s annual 30 Under 30 awards banquet at Palladium St. Louis for his professional achievements and contributions to the St. Louis community. The 2016 class of honorees was chosen by a panel of previous 30 Under 30 winners and the Business Journal editorial board out of more than 400 nominations.
“We are so proud of Chris and his accomplishments at RubinBrown,” said John Herber, Chairman of the Board, RubinBrown. “He first contacted me as a sophomore in college for a class assignment, and shortly thereafter, we recruited him for an internship. It was clear from our first meeting that Chris has a promising future with RubinBrown and has already proven to be a valuable asset to our company.”
Tkach started his career at RubinBrown as an intern in 2008 and was hired on as a full-time employee in the firm’s Assurance Services Group in 2010. He was quickly promoted to a manager position within four years, and now leads the firm’s assurance data analytics initiative, which he helped launch last year. Through this leadership role, Tkach was charged with developing a strategic plan to make RubinBrown a leader in technology-driven auditing.
Tkach serves private and public clients in various industries, including manufacturing and distribution, real estate and non-profit. He is experienced in traditional audit services, SEC reporting, Sarbanes-Oxley compliance testing and reporting, and non-profit accounting. He is also an instructor for industry-specific internal trainings.
Additionally, Tkach served on RubinBrown’s Advisory Board in 2013 and 2014, and has served as the Board’s facilitator for the past two years.
In 2010, Tkach was honored with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) Elijah Watt Sells Award, which is presented to those who score in the top 10 in the nation on the uniform CPA exam. He was also selected as one of 38 young professional CPAs nationwide to participate in the 2014 AICPA Annual Leadership Academy. Tkach also served as a judge for the AICPA’s Accounting Competition.
Since 2012, he has been a Big Brother for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Eastern Missouri. He is also active in his church, St. Francis Xavier, where he currently volunteers on the Parish Life Committee.
Tkach is a member of the Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He earned his B.S. in business administration and his master’s degree in accounting from St. Louis University.
