St. Louis – Harvey Brown, a founding Partner of RubinBrown LLP, passed away on April 5, 2026. Harvey was 98.
Harvey Brown was admired in the accounting profession and in the community for his leadership, integrity, and compassion.
He was born on October 12, 1927 in St. Louis. Harvey was a graduate of Washington University and a Certified Public Accountant in Missouri and Illinois.
In 1952, Harvey Brown was a founding Partner of RubinBrown originally known as Rubin, Brown, Gornstein and Co. After retirement, Brown served as Retired Partner of Counsel at the firm.

Harvey was particularly dedicated to one of RubinBrown’s vision points, Inspired Team Members. This award is a huge recognition for team members and speaks to their ability to live up to the core values of what we believe as a firm.
Harvey was active and held leadership roles both within the accounting profession and community organizations. He served as Past Chairman of the Board of Directors of CPA Associates and held multiple leadership roles with the Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants including Past President of the St. Louis Chapter, Board of Directors, and Chairman of various committees. He was also involved with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
In the community, Harvey served as President of the Board of Directors for the Jewish Community Centers Association. He served in multiple leadership roles with the Jewish Federation of St. Louis including Chairman, Board of Directors and served on multiple committees. He was involved with B'nai Brith and Technion Society, and served on the Board of Directors of the JCC North America and the St. Louis Sports Commission.
